Registrations 2026 - Special Mistral Marathon Trail - 50K
Thank you to the many runners who signed up as soon as registration opened for previous editions. To ensure fairness and give every runner an equal opportunity to secure a race bib, registration for the Mistral Marathon Trail (50K) will be conducted exclusively through a free lottery for the 2027 edition of Grand Raid Ventoux by UTMB. Only registrations for the Mistral Marathon Trail are subject to the lottery. Registration for the three other race formats — Trail des Coteaux (20K), Grande Épopée Ventoux (100K), and Ultra Géant de Provence (100M) — will remain available through direct registration for the 2027 edition. On this page, you'll find answers to all your questions about how the lottery works and the steps required to complete your registration.
When registration opened for the 2026 edition, places were allocated on a first come, first served basis. Demand was extremely high, and the race sold out in record time.
For the 2027 edition, the free lottery will give every runner wishing to take part in the race an equal chance of securing a race bib, regardless of personal availability or internet connection speed.

It is essential that you provide a valid email address when registering and ensure that it has been entered correctly.
Runners who are not selected in the Mistral Marathon Trail lottery will receive an email on the day the results are announced.
If you are not selected, you may be placed on a waiting list and will be notified by email.
If selected runners do not confirm their registration within the required deadline, the unclaimed race bibs will be offered to runners on the waiting list. Those runners will then need to confirm their registration within the specified timeframe.
Some selected runners do not complete their registration before the deadline. When this happens, the available places are offered to runners on the waiting list.
As we cannot predict how many places will become available during this second registration phase, we will not communicate your position on the waiting list or the registration status of runners who were initially selected.
Yes, absolutely.
The Mistral Marathon Trail uses a lottery system. The other races are available through direct registration, subject to availability. Registration for these races will open after the lottery process has closed, allowing runners who were not selected to register for another race of their choice.
No. Race bibs are strictly personal and may not be transferred, given away, or sold to anyone other than the runner who was selected through the lottery.
Race capacities are established in consultation with the local authorities and stakeholders, particularly the Parc naturel régional du Mont-Ventoux.
Mont Ventoux is a fragile natural environment. To help preserve it, the teams from the Regional Natural Park and Grand Raid Ventoux by UTMB work together throughout the year to design environmentally responsible race courses and ensure that the number of runners remains compatible with the carrying capacity of the natural areas crossed by the event.

Local runners
As part of its commitment to promoting the local area, the Mistral Marathon Trail (50K) reserves a quota of race entries for local runners through the lottery system, ensuring that the region's runners are represented in this event.
A portion of the race entries will be reserved for runners whose primary residence is located in Vaucluse (84) or Drôme (26). This initiative is part of our commitment to promoting the region and supporting its local community.
The Grand Raid Ventoux by UTMB is deeply rooted in its local community. To promote the region and its residents, a dedicated quota of race entries is reserved for local runners. The quota is based on the proportion of local participants in previous editions, helping to ensure their representation in the race while keeping the lottery open to all.
The quota applies to the two departments directly connected to the race courses: Vaucluse (84) and Drôme (26). This allows residents of these areas to continue taking part in a race that takes place in their home region.
You will be required to provide proof of residence dated within the last three months. The document must include your full name and address in one of the two eligible departments. The following documents will be accepted, among others: electricity, gas or water bills; landline or mobile phone bills; internet subscription bills; etc. If you are unable to provide valid proof of residence, your registration cannot be confirmed and will be cancelled. The entry fee will not be refunded.
Yes. The lottery is open to all runners with a valid UTMB Index, regardless of their place of residence.
